On 4th July 1993, Dhivya Matric Hr Sec School was founded by Thiru B.Selvarajan as Dhivya Nursery & Primary School and inaugurated by V.Sampath Udayar & V.Kannan MLA. It had just 4 teaching and non-teaching staff with only 64 children functioned initially in the rented building in Chetpet Town. On 13th July 1994, school was shifted to its new own building with an area of 1.5 acres with 6 classrooms inaugurated by R.Kannan, The Director of Teachers Education Research and Training.

The first batch of Matriculation students passed out in the year 1997-98 and subsequently the first batch of Higher Secondary students passed out in 1999-00. Additional wing with 12 classrooms were constructed in 1999 and inaugurated by R.Kannan. On 18th October 2010, 14 smart class rooms were inaugurated by B.Bose, Chairman, Pallavan Educational Institutions & Haji KK Abdul Jaffer Saheb, founder of Tamil Nadu Silk House Vandavasi for a new way of education to meet global standards. On 22nd January 2011, 3 storey new academic building named Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Block with 24 Classrooms was inaugurated by Hon'ble E V Velu, Minister for Food & Civil Supplies, Govt. of Tamil Nadu.

Today the school provides education for about 1800 students with about 125+ Teaching and Non Teaching Staff. Since then the school has grown in scale and scope of work and in reputation. The school offers a rich variety of activities and opportunities for growth. The entire campus gets covered with green lush lawns with trees all around the campus presents a unique atmosphere and ideal educational environment for students and teachers for all round development.
